Durham, NC and Hartford, CTGet ready for the ultimate celebration of Funk music and technology at the Funk n Future Festival on February 26th, 2023. Organized by MaxDistro in collaboration with the P-Funk era Funkateers, this one-day festival experience is part of Black Futures Week and will take place in Durham, NC and Hartford, CT, as well as in the Metaverse.
The Funk n Future Festival is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Funk music and its ties to technology and Afrofuturism. The event will feature performances from the New Funk artists: Zack Roberson and the Nappy Head Funk Army, as well as ToNY CaMM and the New Funk Allstars. Theyll be playing Under a Groove and passing the mantle on to the next generation of STEEM-preneurs, the Aisymmetry STEEM team. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the event in-person, televised worldwide, or in the Metaverse.
In addition to providing an unforgettable entertainment experience, the event supports kids in technology, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Aisymmetry Youth Group of Durham. Their mission is to help students realize the value of essential STEEM skills through our robotic coding, game design and designed thinking session. Were adding a little bit of funk to the syllabustheyll be flying their drones and showcasing their cyber robots!
